Miss Waldow died unexpectedly December 8, 1979 at her home on Washington Hwy.  She came to Amherst to teach English in September 1935 and remained until her retirement in June, 1972.  During this period, she served as chairwoman of the English department, advisor for the Hi-Y, Triad and Tatler, and director of dramatic productions.  She was very active in professional organizations, having served as president of the Erie County Educators Association and director of the New York State Teachers Association.
