January 19, 1996 in Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady, NY.  At age 88, he was the last surviving member of Amherst High School's original faculty.  He retired in 1975 after 45 years of teaching mechanical drawing, surveying and architecture and was chairman of the department and the school's first swimming coach.
