February 6, 1994 in her winter home in Longboat Key, FL after a long illness.  Miss Ward was a Physical Education teacher at Amherst Junior High from 1960-1983, a member of the Western New York Softball Hall of Fame, and a longtime local sportswoman and championship golfer.  At the time of her death, she was vice president of the family business, Holling Press.
