Richard A. Pacht, 60, died on November 23, 2004 at his home in East Hampstead, NH following an extended illness.

He owned and operated Rent-A-Wreck of Manchester, NH from 1994 until his recent retirement and was previously the lab supervisor at ICI Resins in Wilmington, MA.

Born in Boston and raised in Roslindale, and Andover, MA he graduated from Andover High School, Class of 1963 and was a submariner in the Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Torsk and the USS Sirago.

Mr. Pacht was a NASCAR sponsor and former member of the Jay Robinson Inc. pit crew.  He lived in Hampstead for the past 35 years and was a member of St. Anne's Parish and the parish choir, was involved with several fund-raising activities for the parish and was an adult adviser for the CYO. Mr. Pacht was a former Cub Scout leader for Pack 33 in Hampstead, Boy Scout leader for Troop 33 and former member of the Boy Scouts of America Round Table.  He was also a former baseball and basketball coach for the Hampstead Civic Club teams and a volunteer Santa Claus for the Little Village Pre-School in Derry, NH.

He leaves his wife of 38 years Janice (Paolino) Pacht; daughter Shelly A. Wilson and her husband Jack of Derry, NH; sons Kevin R. and his wife Kristina of Colorado Springs, CO; and Christopher R. and his fiancee, Kasey Barnum of Clearwater, FL; mother Georgianna (Pierce) Pacht of Meredith, NH; brother Edward of Rochester; NH; sisters Marian Ford of Pontiac, MI, and Virginia Cote of Meredith,NH; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
