School Story:
After Pi Hi, I attended the University of Michigan and received a BA in economics while taking premed classes. I did not use my econ degree but decided to go med school and attended Michigan State. It snowed in April one year and it was time to move out of Michigan so it was on to Stanford in sunny Palo Alto California for my Emergency Medicine Residency. I met my husband Javaid during this time. He was in the Navy and is now a gastroenterologist. After we got married, I moved to San Diego to complete a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. After being the Director of the Rady Children's Hospital Emergency Department for 3 years, I completed a Physician Executive MBA at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2011.. This has led me to my current role as the Corporate Director, Physician Outreach and Medical Management at Scripps Health in San Diego. Interesting path to say the least! It has been a fun road but I often look back at our high school days and miss the strong bond that we had.
