Hello Everyone:
As a member of the Reunion Committee, I would like to echo Maureen's post for those who wish to attend the reunion to please send in their fees and commit to attending the 50th Reunion.
As we go through our lives, we might not think about AHS very often, but this year we should. A 50th Reunion is a very big deal. I know that I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. As the years go by, I become a little more sentimental about past and current relationships...especially with the passing of people who were dear to me. The thought of not seeing them again saddens me, even if we were not "super close". Too many this past year or so.
I wanted this to be upbeat, but I failed miserably so far. I'll start over.
I am charged with the daunting task of organizing the Golf Outing. In the past, we have had anywhere from 8 to 16 participants. I really hope that we can have a good turnout this year. I will check with several courses in the area, but I don't think that the venue itself is the determining factor. It is the fierce competition that will occur, and the magnificant awards up for those showing their amazing talents. Some of these awared cost literally dollars.
I challenge more women to join us this year. I challenge the men to summon what testosterone we can muster and take the "Long Drive" award from the beast known as Debbie Silver. Enough is enough gentlemen.
There will be awards for other amazing skills such as Closest to the Pin, Best Shot of the Day, Worst Shot of the Day, and probably some other accomplishment yet to be determined.
The golf outing has been a highlight for me each reunion and I look forward to having another fun outing. Please consider joining us. We don't care how you play, just come out and swing.
Again, I am really looking forward to seeing everyone in June. In the meantime, I know we are all looking forward to seeing Mark Duffner and the Bengals in the Super Bowl. Still hard to believe, but it is really happening. AFC Champions and now have a shot at being World Champions. WOW!
Hope everyone is well, or as well as can be expected.
Stay safe and really looking forward to seeing you all.
Jimmy Burden (as everyone seems to remember me being)
