Since graduation I have been married and recently divorced. I have 2 beautiful children who attend a catholic school. Noah is a spitting image of myself, loves his sports and Sara is my blonde hair blue eyed princess. I have been an LPN since 1994 and am taking independent studies to get my BSN then MSN for my nurse practitioner. I work in Huber Heights in a free standing hemodialysis clinic. I was just promoted to the Charge nurse position. I had been ill for over 10 years with severe ulcerative colitis and had a colectomy preformed in 2005 following a J-Pouch creation that same winter. I am an advocate for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation and participate in research studies at the Cleveland Clinic. Currently I am not fully recovered from this disease due to the unknown cause of its nature. I travel to Cleveland a minimum of 2 times a year or more if my J-Pouch is in jeapardy, leading to another ostomy. I have lived life more to its fullest since my surgeries and recent divorce. I try not to take anything for granted. Each day is challenging both physically and mentally, but overcoming such experiences is gratifying.
