After 5/1990 I was not ready for college. After a year of trying at college, I was off...I went to live in Long Beach, CA after 3 years here, surviving the earth quakes and the LA riots, I decided it was time to move back. Back in NM, still not ready for school, I went to work for Leviton Mfg. in El Paso, Tx. Here is was a QA inspector then supervisor. At this point I was going back to school to get an engineering degree, but met someone from NYC, and moved there in 1998. While in NYC I thought I was going to work for Leviton, but it didn't happen this way. So went on to work at 2 more manufacturing companies(who both went bankrupt/not my fault, lol). At this point my then b/f was in the medical field and said you should try this field, you'll never not have a job. My first job in Little Neck, NY was a case manager for a Mental Health unit for workmans comp., and the only reason I got the job was because I spoke spanish. Well after 9/11 and several other NYC disasters, I decided I could no longer worry my family so much and nope did not decide to come home(wasn't ready yet), and moved to Mesa, AZ with Melissa Almaraz(Medina) and her husband. After 3 years in AZ( and no major disasters) I decided it was time for me to return home, and I was ready for college. In 2005, I returned to NM and enrolled in DACC, to start my degree in nursing. By the end of 2005 God had a different plan for me....I met my husband and by Oct/Nov was pregnant with our first, but I was still in school as a full time student, having completed my first year with a 3.8 gpa. After having Gabriel in July of 06' we were again pregnant 6 months later...Yes I know and we actually planned AJ lol. AJ was born 10/23/07. Ok at this point, I needed to go back to work. I applied for a medical records clerk position at DACDC, thinking that I would have time to do this job, keep up with school, and take care of 2 babies.....um no. Job was much more than filing charts, and between job and babies I had no time for school. About a year at DACDC I moved up to a mental health tech, and now I am enrolling back into school, since my oldest is starting pre-k this year. I love my life, never thought that after 20 years this is what it would be. But God always had this plan for me and I am grateful.
