Paul Joseph Hettich

After graduating from ACHS in 1983, I attended Barat College of DePaul University graduating with a BA in 1988 and also received a commission as a 2LT in the U.S. Army through Loyola University. In 1990, I graduated from College of Lake County with a Certificate in General Marketing. In 1992, I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a MA. I served in Iraq as part of the initial invasion from 2003-2004 (and missed our reunion), then in Kosovo and Bosnia from 2004-2005, then again in Iraq from 2007-2010 and in Djibouti, Africa from 2013-2014 as a Colonel, Civil Affairs Brigade Commander. I received two Bronze Star Medals for actions in combat. I wish that I could have made the 2013 reunion.

There are so many. When the football team went downstate. The parties up at train road and so many other places: Horsing Around, State Line Inn, Dynies, water skiing in the summer on the chain of lakes, Blarney Island, the band Force, track, chess club, etc. To some of my friends: Pat Merkel, Joe Apostal, Deb Petterec, Matt Boarini, John Olkers, Phil Aschbacher (rest in peace), Laura Heiden, Pat Filkey, John Hope, Tony Besson, Chris Apostal, Joe Boehman, and so many others - we had some great times.
