Ok, so what the heck? Lastnight, at the PAC, I went up to the bar and bought a round of drinks... 5 in total. The tab came to $22.50??? Where can you get 5 drinks for that price, well, I guess Appleton. Perhaps, I was too hasty at moving away.

I guess if I were to drink as much as I did on a regular basis, I would have to consider moving back!

Thanks to everyone for the great time. It really was fun to see so many people again. And, I am just curious as to why the microphone was taken away from Susan Manley? I found her interviews quite enlightening!

I unlike many others I did not think the reunion went the greatest. I only was able to go to the picnic and when I heard only 90 students signed up. That number made me think did everyone really get invited. I think the website is awesome but not a very realistic way to reach out to everyone in our class. I think we should have mailed out invitations. I know many others were thinking the samething. Many people do not even still have a computer, believe it or not. I hope at our next reunion we contact everyone by email and mail. I think we should have had a sign up sheet at the reunion to put our current information and mailing address's too.

Anyway I am glad to have seen a few people but not as many as I would have expected to be there.

I also heard certain people were not invited and the prices were set that high to keep certain people out. I do not hope that was true but the prices were certainly high for the PAC..... thank you to the volunteers... I did volunteer too but never was contacted to help...

I am just voicing my concerns and comments for the next planning reunion....

Certainly there were a number of people who did not attend the reunion. And that is really sad, of course. However, I know that isn't due to a lack of trying. I personally googled and found at least 15 - 20 people and sent emails or tried to call them. And, I'm not even on the committee... And..It is really difficult to find folks, especially after 20 years. I hope that those of you who know people who haven't yet registered on the site, contact them and tell them to sign up. Or fill out the "contact us" form on the site and send in their contact information for them, if they don't have a computer. I know Sarah and the committee made personal calls to so many people...

Bravo to them for the effort!

Hopefully, now that the site is here, more contact info can be gathered and our next reunion can be bigger and better...

Brad and I are sorry to have missed this - just wrong timing. We would have loved to see everyone again. As it is, we would welcome any pictures taken at the reunion. Maybe post some on this site? I've had fun seeing the profiles. Thanks to the group that did all of this!

I would like to say a huge thank you to the reunion staff, who took time out of their busy lives to throw this party.Everyone who helped, it was an A+ effort. Thanks for all the great times the class of 88 had. SEE You at the 25th or the 30th. Later, Tank.

I had a great time at the 10th Frame on Friday...My hats off to our reunion planners on a job well done. It was wonderful to see everyone that attended!

I wasn't signed up for the PAC...& wouldn't have made it even if I had been....I was so hung over from Friday night that I didn't get out of bed all day/night Saturday.

My husband said I rolled in around 5 am Saturday morning, hit the couch & didn't move after that....

Good party!!!
Love you guys!

I too thought the reunion was a blast! I vote for 5 years (sorry Sarah - I know you're hoping for a break) and keep the same format - the PAC was perfect. The committee gets many kudos for all the planning.

I'll let Sarah rest and than I'll find out how to upload my photos. I just got my camera this year, so am by no means an expert. I've emailed some of the photos and will continue to contact you one-on-one with the "decent" photos.

And ladies...the guys were just trying to read your name tags...we swear!

Way to voice your opinion Pete, I am sure the committee only spent a couple hours on the whole thing. I personally thought the gang did a great job, I got home about 4:30 am and felt like ASS! for at least a day and a half, where else can you spend under a $100 and have a two day hangover!!
It was nice seeing everyone and looking forward to the next one.
Again, hats off to the committee and hopefully more can come to the 25th or 30th.

I thought it was as nice as it should have been. For the big 20, it had better be somewhere sorta ritzy, and really-after 20 years of being in the adult working world if you can't afford $50 maybe you have bigger worries in life than who is planning what kind of class party and where. As to the conspiracy angle of keeping people out by having it at the PAC, how would anyone know that if someone couldn't afford $50 in high school that they aren't a millionaire by now? It's been twenty years. Maybe all the kids with money back then lost it all by now too.
Is there any place we can all pool our photos we shot there together for everyone to go download? Can this site have a page for that? Who's our I.T. person on this?
Anyway, I had a great time. It really felt just like high school again. At 38 I still snuck in my Mom's the next morning hoping she wouldn't ask me where I went after!

maybe someone could set up a reunion flickr page at flickr.com and everyone can dump their photos there?

07/23/08 03:34 PM #47

Karina Willes

I have been helping Sarah with the site. I think the Flickr page is a great idea too. I can also create a page on this site with a more limited number of featured photos, if people would like that. If you want, please send your photos to me at kwilles@tds.net. I will collect them and then set up something to memorialize the event.

Hi there everyone. I missed the reunion, out of town for work. Sounds like a blast. Thank you Chris Berken for letting me know about this site. It is great to see how everyone is doing and find out where all the peeps from highschool ended up. Without even being at the reunion, I certainly agree that there was a lot of work put into it. I look forward to seeing everyone at the 25th. Pete....we can swap Marine Corp stories, my little brother has been to Iraq 3 times. I will contact a couple of people not signed up on the site and get them on here. Take care!!!

I think the group did a great job on this reunion, the website is awesome and the picnic went well. However there are a lot of people that still dont have computers nor did they know about this. I ran into some of them this week and apperantly they had no idea. Like some one had allready requested maybe more people can help out and volunteer for the next one and help find those that are in the missing list unless they want to be on the missing list for some reason. As far as cost I think the cost's were reasonable. I didn't think things were to costly. I am certainly looking forward to the next one and I hope no one is getting married that day or It isn't the same weekend as Iola. OTher wise I will be there. Sarah Esler and I have keeped in touch through this and I give her the best she stayed in touch and did a great job communicating. My hats off to the group. For the rest of the class spend some money and get with the program and buy a fricken computer. Maybe then we can make it a better reunion. It was very nice to see the rest of you at the picnic. Jody you and your husband are awesome. Just wish I had known alot more of you in school.

PHOTOS

First of all, when I arrived at the Bowling event (bowl? more like drinking event) with my professional grade 10.3MP digital camera, I was asked by Ramsey to take photos all weekend and be the "official" photographer for the reunion—as photography is a small hobby of mine. The committee was happy that I would take some pictures. I was aware others might also take some nice photos. Better yet.

I took a lot of great photos (If I do say so myself) at all three events. I tried to get photos of everyone but am sure I missed a few people just my accident.

I am making edits to improve the pictures and will be getting CDs to Sarah. I am sure she will call me as requested. She said she will then get them on the web site. The photos turn out to be huge files but I could e-mail a few per individual request. All websites reduce photo size which if fine for a monitor but lose a lot of quality for printing purposes.

At the PAC event, I was told by someone (sorry but the pretty redhead's name slips my mind) that she was taking over for me and I did not need to take any. I continued anyway but took less than I would have.

Sarah, Mary Claire, Ramsey, Anne, Dan and Jeff Bartley all thanked me at some point over the weekend as they knew it was taking me away from some of you.

In general, I think you will all be happy. To me, besides picture quality, getting photos of EVERYONE was most important. I did not want my choice of people in the photos to be based on popularity, my friendships, richness or poorness. As long as all submitted pictures are posted, you will have to agree they are a good representation of the class.

Can we get the video presentation up on this site? I could not understand a word Dr. Alby said when it was played in the PAC, but it looked to be funny.

Thanks to the team for an awesome 2 day reunion. I had so much fun, caught up with some of you, and enjoyed all the hugs and kisses.

I was also disapointed so few attended and so many have not been contacted/found. I imagine it is a huge task.

I have to say, I do not like the way people are reacting to those who were not happy. I feel the team alone should respond if so desired. We are supposed to be pulling the group together, not alienating fellow classmates.

I've glanced at the comments made and would like to say, thank you so much to the planning committee. I know there was a ton of time put into this event. Everything went so well. Marty and I had a great time.
The PAC was a great venue and really highlighted how much Appleton has grown. I vote for a reunion every 10 years as I think you will have better attendance.
It was great seeing all of you and I can't wait to see the pictures Jerry took. He busted his butt getting pics of everyone. I actually have a picture of Jerry and Pete to put on the site when it's ready.
I also know for a fact that Sarah busted her butt in making sure everyone knew about the reunion. Again, many thanks to those who put in so much effort and time.
Andrea

I'm sorry if anyone took what I wrote personally...It's just my natural defense mechanism kicked in to defend the people that worked so hard for us. I am not trying to alienate anyone for expressing their opinion. I do feel however, that the comments made by that person opened the door for discussion.
If that person didn't like the way things were run, then she could have directed her comments to the individuals in charge & not posted them on the message forum for everyone to comment on. I am not trying to burn bridges by any means. Just expressing my personal opinion.
I had a great time & I can't wait to do it again! Peace & Love to all.
