NBA:  The San Antonio Spurs defeat the New York Knicks, 4 games to 1, to win the franchises' first championship. The Knicks were the first number eight seed in NBA history to make it to the NBA Finals.

NCAA BASKETBALL:  Connecticut wins 77-74 over Duke.

TOUR DE FRANCE:  Lance Armstrong wins his first yellow jersey.

PGA:  Tiger Woods wins the PGA Championship and becomes the PGA money leader, winning $6,616,585.
