Kelly Patrick

I graduated from James Madision University in December 1993 and began my special education teaching career in January 1994 working with children having phsycial disabilities. I taught elementary special ed. in Fairfax County for 8 years, then left to teach in Loudoun County, where I still am today. I've taught in various different programs (physical, mental and cognitive disabilities, autism, specific learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, severe/profound, etc.). I've worked as both a teacher and at the administrative level. I'm now living and teaching in Ashburn, VA. I did spend 1 year teaching in Central Florida, but couldn't deal with the hurricanes and the awful weather that I went through that year, so I moved back "home" to Northern VA. I also keep up with my "artistic" side by creating cookie bouquets and handpainted children's gifts for friends and their families. I still love to run and have done a few marathons (Disney one down in FL was awesome)and other local road races.

Wow, cross-country still brings back the most and the best memories! Coach Null just instilled that love for running in me and it's never let up. It's still hard to believe that I used to run through cornfields in Ashburn, be chased by dogs, etc., and now I still run some of the same routes but they're all paved roads, surrounded by huge McMansions. I feel so OOOOOOLD!!
