I am a direct descendant of John Hopper 1777 and Hannah Taylor 1769 through the line of their son John 1812 ( the brother of Thomas Hopper b 1808 who emigrated to the USA ). John b1812 had a son Charles b 1852 who was my Gt Grandfather.
I was adopted when I was 3 years old after the death of my mother and after the conscription of my father, John Hopper b 1915, into the army during WW11.
I have traced as far back as my 3x Gt Grandfather but am still no nearer to finding my birth father.
I was born in 1940 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England but since my retirement my wife and I have moved up to the Scottish Hebrides and now live on the Island of Mull.
