How many of you saw the movie, and what did you think? Do you remember where you were and what you were doing that night in 1970?

It is one of the earliest memories that is burned into my brain. I was only 9 years old. I was at home with my parents watching the Beverly Hillbills on our only TV (a black and white) when the Channel 13 news broke in. I will never forget the look on my mothers face. Even though she did not know anyone on that team, nor was she a sports fan, the pain of such a loss was devastating.

I thought the movie did a great job of capturing what Huntington and the surrounding community went through.

For those of us that eventually became Marshall alumni, it may have more meaning. But it was a national event that took place in our area during our childhood.

I'm a Marshall alumni, as are most of my family. I came home from PA to see the movie in Huntington the 1st weekend it opened. I went with my sister and mother and we wore our Marshall sweatshirts. The movie was fantastic and when it was over, there was silence and no movement for such a long time. We picked my grandmother up afterwards and she took us to the cemetary where the team was buried - I never knew that existed.

I remember when this happened. It was like a dark cloud sat over the tri-state area for awhile. Two of my brothers graduated from Marshall. Both Vanessa and I attended there before transferring to other colleges. We saw the movie and thought it was great. There was a big article in the paper here because the widow of the head coach lives in Richmond.

I saw the movie. I remember very vividly the whole thing. My Dad was coming across the Ohio bridge @Ashland and saw the black cloud. Being an Ashland Oil employee he thought the plant had blown up. He and my middle brother went to the scene before it was anounced on TV. He knew the back roads and got right above the crash. The rescue guys told my dad not to let my brother look down the hill. Sadly no bodies were recovered, my brother said the rescue workers were in tears.
I remember interviews from family and people close to the situation at the time and I still see the guy(asst couch) who wouldn't fly because of it being on Friday the 13th.
The Movie was good and really brought back a lot of those old memories.

Actually have not seen the movie yet, but I have an uncle that was on that time but I guess it was not his time......he got injured 2 weeks before the plane crash and was not travelling with the team. Thank the Lord!!! They wanted him to be in the movie but he declined. He went to therapy forever and still has issues....lost alot of friends.
