Stephen R. Semple age 58, passed away on November 5, 2007 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. He was born on May 21, 1949 in Ashland, OH, the son of the late Kenneth V and Harriet (Reaser) Semple. Steve married Peggy Melzow on April 22, 1972 in Owosso, MI. Steve is survived by his wife Peggy, children Kristin and Brian (Michelle); mother-in-law Joan Melzow; sisters-in-law Janet Semple, Martha Melzow (Gerry Andrianopoulos), Mary Melzow (Dave Chrenko) and Sally Sterling (Mike Loflin). Steve is also survived by nieces, Lisa Ernst (Andy) and Sarah Sterling; nephews Michael Semple (Jill), Sean Sterling and Matthew Lassiter and great-nephews Otto and Joe Ernst. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth V. and Harriet (Reaser) Semple; his brother Maurice V. Semple and his father-in-law Leroy W. Melzow. Steve graduated from Adrian College in 1972. He was a banker in Ann Arbor. He began his career at Ann Arbor Bank in 1972 and retired from National City in June, 2006. He worked for United Bank and Trust from June 2006 to present. Steve was an avid sports fan of the University of Michigan. He was a past president of the U of M Club of Ann Arbor.
