Fifth grade class at Riceville School, 1966-67. This was the last year at the old school. Our regular teacher, Mr. Dockins, was out that day and our sub is in the photo. An interesting fact that I found out much later was that my Dad attended 8th grade at the same school and had the very same classroom that we had -- in the basement on the South side of the building. I really liked that school year the very best at Riceville; we played before school and after school on the campus. Tag was a popular game and also softball with our own bats, balls, and gloves. That all changed when we went to the new school.

Fourth Grade class, Riceville School, 1965-66. I can name all but four of the classmates in this photo. Our teacher was Mrs. Melton.

Class Roll from the First Grade photo, which was recorded by Nancy's mother in 1962 (apologies for any name misspellings). Note that Nancy and I shared First Grade together, as well as Second Grade at Riceville. We got re-acquainted in 1973 at McMinn by mutual friends.
