I earned my degrees at Emory Univ., George Washington Univ., and Georgia State Univ. and taught for 32 years at Sprayberry High School in East Cobb. In 2002, I received the highest honor at Sprayberry High School and had the yearbook dedicated to me with the presentation of the first copy at the Spring Fling Assembly. I've served on three of the Reunion Committees in the past, including the one for this upcoming Fortieth Reunion in 2009. Since retiring from teaching in 2006, I've been chosen President-Elect of the Cobb-Marietta Retired Educators Assoc. and will serve as its President next year during its 40th Anniversary celebration. I am also a docent candidate at the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum so that I may put my education to good use and continue to volunteer in the Atlanta Jewish community. My husband and I have sponsored two students from Taiwan (Emily and Lily Huang) to live with us while continuing their education here in the United States when conditions did not work out with extended family here in the States; we are very proud of them and their success and continue to stay in touch with them.

I remember one day in Human Biology Doc Walton went a little crazier than usual. He was always calling us "skunks" and "skunkettes" instead of our names, which he thought was funny. But this particular day he was upset with Marilyn Benbenisty Gower and he was chasing her around the room. Eventually he grabbed her and ripped her blouse and she slapped him in the face! I'll never forget it. She went to Mr. Derthick's office and got a transfer out of the class; I've never understood why Doc Walton wasn't fired for inappropriate behavior for that. Today it would be all over the media! And the cheating that went on in that class!! Oh my goodness, I have never seen so much cheating in all my life! Books in laps being shifted back and forth under the lab tables and cosmetic mirrors left on the tables and moved around for better views of test papers! And Doc Walton was oblivious to all of this! He never caught anyone. Richard Siegel and I may have been among the few actually studying and not cheating. We were amazed by it all.
