Since most of my classmates lived closer to NHS than I did, I did not know Karen very well away from school. I do remember her to be somewhat shy - that is until she got to know you - and then she was one of the most outgoing, bubbly girls in "Tigerland". I heard from her by phone some years ago, and she invited my wife and I to visit her and John at their Outer Banks home in NC. Sadly, we never got to. Her spirit will always brighten the halls of old Northside, no matter what they call it now. Rest in Peace, "Funny Girl".
