Memorial Service for Charles David Smedley will be on Sunday, May 19th. Visitation will begin at 2PM and the service will begin at 3PM.

David passed away, May 2, 2019. Many of David's Grady classmates enjoyed buying our clothes from David at Lenox Square long after we left Grady High School. His taste in clothing was spot on, and when you put on the suit or sport coat he helped you select it was a really good feeling. Not only did David clothe our generation, but many of our sons were his customers as well.
While at Grady, David lettered in Varisty Football, Basketball, and Tennis. He was a Senior Surpurlative Nominee.
Always a happy and uplifting person, David will be missed by his many customers, friends, Grady Footblall Teammates and Grady Classmates. Our deepest sympathy to his daughter Jennifer.

I was taken by surprise at the death of another classmate. It breaks my heart to see friends we've know for over 55 years and now seeing their names "IN MEMORY" puts things in a different perspective. I hope his family finds peace and may his memory be a blessing to his family.

Didn't know David well at Grady but another classmate's death is difficult to accept. Life is truly short ... we need to keep remembering each other and remember to enjoy the time we have. All though I personally didn't know David I send his family my deepest and heartfelt sympathy. I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

Sorry to hear of David's passing. Another classmate gone. The only thing we can hold on to are our memories and hopes that we will continue to have a clear mind to do so. Makes me really sad though I did not know him personally I know he will be so missed by those that loved him.

I remember what a great football player David was in High School and some of the great running plays that he made. He was always fun to be around and will be greatly missed. About 10 years ago, my wife bought me a Christmas suit from David at Ham Stockton in Lenox Square. It is still my favorite and best suit. Every time I wear it, I think of David and how good it was to see him at Lenox.

What I remember about David is that he was one of the nicest guys in our class. I can’t imagine that he ever said an unkind word to anyone. I was very sad to hear about his passing.
