AUBURN - Robert N. Salvati, 79, of Eastwood Ave., Auburn, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at Auburn Memorial Hospital. Mr. Salvati was born December 22, 1931, in Auburn, to the late Thomas and Angeline Marco Salvati. Robert attended Cortland State College where he received his master's degree in education. He was employed with the Auburn School District as a social studies teacher for many years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Berlin, Germany, during the time of theKorean War. In past years he enjoyed camping and skeet shooting. Robert was a talented woodworker and used his skills to help finish his family home in Owasco. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Tama Salvati; his three daughters, Carol Salvati, of Arizona, Amy Salvati and her husband, Paul Franckowiak, of Saratoga Springs, Lynn Salvati and her husband, Chris Willcox, of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, Jon Salvati and his wife, Diane, of Skaneateles, and James Salvati. of Virginia. Mr. Salvati was predeceased by his brother, David Salvati. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at White Chapel. Contributions in memory of Robert N. Salvati may be made to the SPCA, 75 York St., Auburn, or the Seymour Public Library, 176 Genesee St., Auburn or the charity of one's choice.
