AUBURN - James T. Salva, 57, of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Jim was a life resident of Auburn and a graduate of Auburn High School. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. In 1983, Jim created Salva Electric, Inc., a respected business that he grew in both size and recognition over the next three decades. Jim's skills and professionalism enabled him to be a licensed master electrician in both the Auburn and Syracuse areas. He was the current president of the Auburn Electrical Board. Jim is survived by his father, Al Salva, of Auburn; a brother, John Salva, of Auburn; three sisters, Joanne Francis and her husband, Tim, of North Carolina, Jeannine Larose, of Skaneateles, and Julie DiFederico, of Auburn; four nieces, one nephew as well as one great-niece and one great-nephew. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his wonderful mother, Jeanne, as well as his long-time companion, Marlene Marks, whom he adored traveling with. The two of them especially loved their excursions to Italy and Key West. Jim held in very high regard his close relationship with Marlene's children, Corey (Jessie) Marks with their children, Michael and Kaylee, and Marlene's son, Nick Fedor. Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered by the Rev. James Enright at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Bird Cemetery, Locke. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, in the Cheche Funeral Home, 1778 Clark St., Auburn. Jim was a man who built wonderful friendships as well as a wonderful business. His name, the name that appeared on each of his company vehicles, spoke volumes of the man and how he treated everyone that he encountered. Jim,

I know you are watching over us and I remember that you were always a "gentleman" in the highest standard!

I will have a "Bud"  in your honor at our reunion.  Thanks for who you were..............!

Sadly missed by all who knew you.

I just saw this notice. Jim & I were classmate at Holy Family & Auburn High. He was a great guy. My only regret is not stopping in to see him when I was back home. Jim, you were a pal. Rest easy.
