Obituary for Daniel Turner

Daniel "Chico" Turner, 61, of Auburn, NY  passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his home with his wife and daughters by his side after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.

Friends and Family are invited to call Monday, October 23 from 4:00 to 6:00pm with a short service immediately following at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street, Auburn.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, Matthew House and Falcon's Sportsman Club.

Daniel was born February 27, 1956 to Jack and Rita (McGinn) Turner.  A lifelong resident of Auburn, NY, Daniel graduated from Auburn High School and was employed by E&V Energy as a truck driver.  He loved to work, and spent most of his free time fishing, hunting, gardening, taking naps in the yard, talking on the phone, and spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Kim (Enge) Turner, who devoted the fifteen months lovingly caring for him.  Two daughters Danielle (Aaron) Brahney, and Erica (Robert) Ryan.  His three grandchildren Kiersten Nicole, Liam Michael and Kendall Nicole. His two hunting dogs Maci and Miley. Three sisters Jill (Mark) Malenick,  Maryellen (Tom) Phillips, and Terri (Steven) Johnson, and one brother Mark (Holly) Turner.  His Mother and Father In-Law Robert and Mary Jane (Duffy) Enge.  Three Sisters In-Law Karen (Bill) Gordon, Kathy (Don) George, and Mary Beth (Chip) Bellnier.  Three Brothers In-Law Robert (Patti) Enge, Michael (Lisa) Enge and William (Melissa) Enge. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Rita Turner, his sister Jacqueline Turner, and his faithful hunting dogs Maggie, Miesha, Sadie and Madison.  

Daniel was lucky enough to have many great lifelong friends, who were devoted to him during his illness.  Bill (Yvonne) Guter, Michael Bozek, Jake Vanbenschoten, Stephen "Stubby" Dennis, Tom (Sherry) Lombardo, Clark (Janet) Besley, and Kevin (Kelly) Anderson.  Family will forever be thankful for these friendships.
