John Hundley - Class Of 1974

MACCLENNY, Fla. < John Michael Hundley, 50, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007. He was born in Auburn on Oct. 17, 1956, to the late Charles Hundley and Juliette Fabrizio Hundley. John graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1974, and Le Moyne College in May of 1978. He was employed by Parliament Building Products. John moved to Florida from upstate New York in 1983 and resided in the Orange Park, Fla. area during the remainder of his life. John"s passion was sports. He excelled during high school and college as a baseball pitcher and upon college graduation, played in the minor leagues for a number of years until his retirement from baseball due to an injury. John was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kathy Guido. He will be sadly missed by surviving family members, including his son, David Hundley, of Alma, Ga.; brother, Mark Hundley, of Katy, Texas; sisters, Mary Driscoll Heath, of Union Springs and Helen Terry, of Tampa, Fla.; 10 nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles. Also his long-time companion, Brenda Swisher, and her son, Adam Swisher, of Macclenny, Fla.; and his best friend, Pete Sargent, of Ohio. Memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, in St. Mary"s Church, Clark Street, Auburn. Private burial will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Auburn High School Baseball Scholarship Fund, with checks made payable to Auburn High School, memo: John Hundley Memorial Scholarship Fund Class of "74.
