So sad and a shock to lose another classmate. I remember Vince, Gerry Leahy and myself in Jr. High doing the trucker walk and him and Jerry walking the halls in High School playing their harmonicas. He was always happy and had a smile on his face. Say hi to Shosh and have some laughs. You will be missed.

WOW - When it rains it pours. I knew Vince & Jerry Leahy pretty well in School and they were both great guys. Sad to see our Classmates slowly passing away but I guess it's like they say "The only real things are Life, Death & Taxes" May you Rest in Peace my Brother and say hi for the ones that have gone before you ! You WILL be missed !

Another one bites the dust, I think Vince will like this posting of music remembering him, too many friends lost!

Jarring to hear of these two most recent passings.  I am however appreciative of Jon's commitment and work keeping us updated.

Ran into Vince a few years back at the Iron Horse (before it was renamed/remodeled).  He was his same charismatic and joy filled self.  Left my mom and I smiling 🙂 🙂

From Vince's cousin Mike:

I am Vince Shumsky's first cousin and spent a lot of time with him and Gerry Leahy in the 1960's thru the 1980"s and longer. I also knew Cheryl Gaines and her family well and spent lots of time together with the Gaines family at Hood Canal in the 1960's and 1970's. We also went to college at Central at the same time in the 1970's and lived in the same dorms in Fall 72, 73 and 74. My Mother Alyce Schumsky graduated from Auburn High School right after Vince's Dad my Uncle Raymond graduated from Auburn High in the late 1940's early 1950's. I just wanted to comment on Vinces passing along with Shosh passing a few days earlier. No Problem, Jonathan if you only let actual Auburn High Alumni in for comments, I understand. I spent a lot of time in Auburn in the summers as a kid and always felt like it was a second home with my Uncle Raymonds family. Thank You, Michael Rupley Castle Rock WA

Vince was an awesome guy to be around.  He had a smile a big as Texas, larger than life. Back in the day he sure could party.Shocking to hear of his passing.  Another good soul is in Jesus arms.

Rest in Peace Vince. I must say after reading this I went to the memory page. I counted 86 or so fellow classmates that are on the list. Very sad to see that list, but it makes me appreciate I am here and healthy.

Vince certainly was a character. He was always smiling and did like to make people smile. They was usually laughter around him. I never saw him put people down and talked to everybody. It is sad how many we are losing now,. Hazards of aging. I would run into Vince once in a while over the years and was still always upbeat
