Bill was killed in action on the Laos border on 4/15/1970.  He was a reluctant warrior but was proud to serve this country.  I was tasked to bring him home as his "Body Escort" which was a heartbreaking honor.

Thank you for your post, John.  I knew that Bill was killed in action, but never heard any details.  We sat next to each other in home room all through high school, and I always enjoyed him.  His sacrifice for our country won't be forgotten.  Thanks for your service and for escorting our friend home.

Bill's  "start tour" date was January 10th 1970 which is the day Dennis Kabara was killed. (from Vietnam Wall information)     Bill was killed 4/15/1970.

 Please look at the video on "you tube" about a friend who was with Bill and visited his family the summer of 1970.  It includes the subject of trains which was a favorite of Bill.   I happened to find this yesterday by "googleing"  William Disantis video.   I hope everyone listens to this beautifully made story ;

"Anthony Wallace recalls visiting the Disantis family in 1970 "  (made by Philip F. Napoli) (Bringing It All Back Home)

I did not know Denny Kabara but did know Bill from Junior High also.  By listening to Mr. Wallace I had a way to remember and honor my classmates who gave up their hopes and dreams for us.

It is done in a way that will make you glad you listened to it.  There is another video " Anthony Wallace is wounded April 15, 1970"  that is very good also and gives information in a gental manner that mentions Bill again.  Please don't miss this.
