Rev. Lawrence Curry Sr.

Rev. Lawrence W. Curry Sr. 60, of Austin died Saturday, April 16, 2016. He was born in Manor,Texas to Willie and Jeffrey Curry. Lawrence was a great Track and Football star at Reagan High School, class of 1975. His passion for visiting the nursing homes, hospitals and homes praying with the sick and shut-in was remarkable.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Linda Curry and their children Lawrence Curry Jr., LaTasha Curry and Lindsey Curry of Austin; Before their marriage his two oldest children, Timothy Hendricks (Iris) of Dallas, TX and LaMeca Davis of Austin, TX; sisters, Verdell Williams, Dallas Ikner (Rev. Melvin), Linda Sanders (Charles), and Gencie Mathis (Lester); brothers, Luke Curry, George Curry (Marilyn) and Cle Curry all of Austin; 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild; aunts, Cleora McVade, Carnella Spence of Manor, TX and Lula Shirley, Waco, TX; Visitation is Thursday 2-7 pm. Services will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. John Tabernacle at 11am. Service entrusted to the caring staff of Phillips-Upshaw & Richard Funeral Home.
