MARY JANE YANCEY KELBELL
October 29, 1956 - August 6, 2019

On August 6, 2019, the lord welcomed home one of his precious daughters, Mary Jane Yancey Kelbell, at the age of 63. She was greeted by her father, Robert J. Yancey, her mother, Emma Jane Yancey, and her “mom”-in-law, Thelma Kelbell.

Mary was born on October 29, 1956 in Waco, Texas. The youngest of three children she was the only girl. “Baby sister” would later show her brilliance, excelling in academics and graduating from Reagan High School with honors. She earned many scholarships and a “full ride” to 
The University of Texas at Austin’s engineering and physics departments. Initially she majored in astrophysics, but would later switch to computer science. That major resulted in a career in computer programing, yet she never lost her love for the stars, often pondering their mysteries.
 

She is survived by her daughter Jane M. Kelbell, former husband Scott Kelbell, brothers Bob and Ken Yancey, nieces Kim Yancey and Allison Rinkus, nephew Kenny Yancey, and sisters-in-law Carol Kelbell and Bethany Noland.

A memorial service will be held in her honor starting at 10 am on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 
The First Baptist Church of Oak Hill 6907 Convict Hill RD, Austin, TX 78749.
