Funding the Gap Between Adequate and Excellent

The Eanes Education Foundation (EEF) is the fund-raising arm of the Eanes Independent School District (EISD).  We raise funds to help ease the burden that recapture ("Robin Hood") and "hold harmless" laws place on Eanes.  Eanes focuses on excellence, rather than mere adequacy that the state provides.  Therefore, EEF attempts to fund the gap between adequate and excellent.  EEF has granted millions of dollars to EISD in recent years.

Did you know that many of the things we take for granted, such as smaller class sizes and teacher support staff at the elementary level (e.g. GT teachers, specials teachers, librarians, nurses, counselors) are not part of the state's definition of adequate?  Neither are AP classes at the high school level, advanced math and language arts at all levels, and all of the outstanding electives made available to our students as they progress through their K-12 years.

Our largest grants to date have been dedicated to teacher salaries and positions.  Additionally, we have recently expanded our efforts with our first Directed Giving fund…the Partnership for Teacher Excellence Program (PTEP).  This innovative program, raised from specific donors who make multi-year commitments, provides substantial scholarship assistance to EISD teachers who wish to pursue a master's degree.  Additionally, PTEP is a partnership with Texas State University, which provides classes onsite at Eanes campuses during the school year.  We plan to expand to more dedicated funds as the district identifies new programs that further enhance Eanes excellence.

The quest for excellence never ends, and community support is critical to the continued success and forward progress in that quest. Join us today, and MAKE THE DIFFERENCE for the students and teachers of the Eanes district!
