Good afternoon East Bakersfield High alumni, I went to East High only my freshman year and then moved to southwest Bakersfield and attended West High for the remainder of my high school years. I attended my West High 10 & 20-year reunions but I wasn't able to visit with people that I attended elementary and junior high with so I'm excited to re-connect with many of my childhood friends this summer at the EBHS 30-year reunion. OMG, I can think of so many of you that I'd love to catch up with.
I went to Mt. Vernon Elementary and Sierra Jr. High. Since graduating high school I attended College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA then moved to Ventura and attended Ventura College. I got married and had two children.
My husband of 21 years works for the Federal Government and we moved from Ventura (Camarillo) in 2002 to Leesburg, VA, just outside D.C. for his job. Once moving here I decided to try substitute teaching and I love it! Been doing it for four years now. Working for the public school system allows me to work hours that my two kids are in school and have the same days off and summers off so I can spend time with them.
I miss California sometimes, right now, Wednesday, February 10th, we are experiencing the biggest snow blizzard in 110 years over here. We're housebound and starting to drive each other nuts. The school system, Federal Gov and all other businesses are closed and people are scrambling to dig themselves out. Since we lived in Ventura County for 12 years before this, it is NOT something I'm used to.
I really look forward to seeing some of you that I haven't seen in years and hope that everyone is doing well and are happy and healthy.
