Robert Spotswood
Jackie was born on August 21, 1946 in Alhambra, CA, the second child to Jack and Helen Jackson. She had three brothers, Jim, John and Jay and one sister Jana. They were always competing to see who could outdo the other, whether it was fishing in the High Sierras, making an M&M last longer than the other, or catching the most frogs.
She spent most of her life in Baldwin Park, Covina, and San Dimas. She graduated from Baldwin Park High School in 1964 and attended Mount San Antonio Jr. College. Jackie and Bob met their senior year in High School and were married in 1965. Jackie was outgoing and made many friends. Her career highlights touched many people. She worked as an assistant at a staffing agency in Covina, a medical assistant to Dr. Holbrook in Baldwin Park, an assistant to Dr. Hollis Clark in Glendora, and a teacher’s assistant to Ms. Mowell at Cedargrove Elementary.
Jackie was an administrative assistant at APU School of Nursing, a customer relations team member at Focus on the Family in Pomona, CA, and a Women’s Bible Study Fellowship Leader. Jackie was a Sunday School teacher, nursery school helper, pre- school board member and served on various Ministry teams and committees. She loved the Lord.
Jackie was the mother of our two great kids (thanks to her), Jamie and Brent, a grandmother of two awesome grandchildren, Joey and Jenna Fleming; who she loved dearly. She was a great cook, best friend and confidante.
Jackie passed after a four year battle with Parksonson's and Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her family and her full time caretaker and sweetheart Bob of 51 years. She always had a positive attitude and a smile.

Although Jackie and I were both in the drill team together and I thought she was really sweet I didn't hang with her. In the early 1980's I started going to the same church as Bob and Jackie. We were in the same Sunday school and even in the same couples small group. Jackie and I became best friends. She had a very funny dry since of humor that I loved and a very caring and sensitive side. She was always there for me. I loved her and I will miss her. She was one of a kind.

Thank you Tanyss for posting your memories about Jackie. You reminded me that I need to do the same. I'm so sorry to hear of Jackie's passing, and that she had to endure that terrible disease. I didn't have much interaction with Jackie or Bob in high school, but when I did, I remember that they were both very nice and friendly. I remembered that the class voted them "Favorite Couple", but then I looked in the yearbook and saw that title went to another couple. We DID vote Jackie and Bob "Best Personality", and Jackie "Best Looking." Both of those were right on. Just look at Jackie's picture--she was gorgeous! Thanks for the memories.

Although I was in Drill Team with Jackie I did not know her well, but I remember how well liked she was by everyone. So sorry to hear of her passing so young!!

I also did not have the privilege of knowing Jackie well, but she was a beautiful person inside and out. I know that she was the love of Bob's life and she will be missed by many. My condolences to Bob and Jackie's family.Claude Potter
I read Bob's post and appreciated the biography. I remember Jackie as very friendly and polite. She was an attractive lady and had much going for her. God bless her and her family, a loss for this world.

Jackie was always a role model to others. She certainly was to me and I looked up to her. I see we need to look up a little higher now. May God bless you Jackie.
