Jerry, you were a true friend. The countless hours we spent playing ball together, the teams, all-stars, school, the broken leg playing football at the little league field, and just the discussions of life we had together. Diabetes stole some of your athletic ability from you, and I can't imagine what you must of gone through, but to your credit I never heard you once complain. I lost touch with you while in service, and I'm so sorry about that, we were just getting back together when the news of the diabetes taking you away, at a far to young of age arrived. Thanks Jerry, I think of you often........
I knew Jerry from high school, though I didn't keep contact with many fellow students after high school, I ran into Jerry at a brokerage firm in LA around 1970, he was working there and I was on an audit. We got together for a couple of lunches and caught up with our post high school years. It was in the late 80's I ran into him again through business, he was a VP at a mid sized courier service co. and I needed his company's services. We had several lunches at our favorite mexican restaurant, "Taxco's" in BP (now gone). I had left the company I was with, but would ocassionally be in the area where Jerry worked and have lunch with him. I called his office one day and found out Jerry had passed a couple of months earlier. I was greatly saddened by the news and missed the one connection I had to BPHS class of 64. RIP,Jerry. I look forward to seeing you again.
