Nancy Jo and I were in the same homeroom class in our sophomore year but we were also in many of the same classes all through high school. I remember her well. She was on the petite side, had large, expressive dark eyes and black hair. Her hair got shorter or pinned back as we neared graduation. I told her one morning that she reminded me of Patsy Cline who was very popular in Baltimore at the time. I think she was flattered, as she blushed a bit, which was unusual for Nancy Jo. (Patsy Cline died in an airplane crash in Tennessee a few year after Nancy Jo and I graduated from Patterson.)
Nancy Jo had a good sense of humor and cheered me up on some of those dull winter mornings (after taking two or three buses to school) --with her wit and perkiness. In my yearbook she wrote: "To a cute little guy who was lots of fun in our years together at Patterson."
