I attended the University of Texas at Austin from 1985-1989 to earn my BS in Chemical Engineering and then from 1992 to 1999 to get my MS ChE and PhD ChE. I was an engineer and business man from 1989 to 2007 and enjoyed my career very much. In 2005 I felt a calling to go into medicine and started medical school in 2007 to start my 2nd career. I am a physician at Rainy Lake Medical Center in northern Minnesota. I enjoy family life, friends, and my career/training.

My favorite funny school memories were from my speech / debate team days when some of the students in our class (I won't mention any names) were put in detention for simply having paper clips and rubber bands in their possession ... apparently some kids had been shooting other kids with these harmless items and they had become "illegal" at our school. The assasin games were also a lot of fun and I remember some of my classmates coming to my home and "shooting" me with toy disk guns.
