By the grace of God I graduated from LSU in 1995 - it took me some extra time. The national guard paid for most of my education. I worked for a year and realized that an English degree did not count for much in the job market; so I went to Southeastern, became certified in secondary education, and started teaching by the end of 1996. I've also worked as a DOE at Sylvan Learning Center in Gonzales, LA from 7/2000 to 1/2002. Presently I'm working as the librarian at St.Helena Central HS and attending Southeastern (again) to become certified as a librarian.
My husband and I have recently opened a customization business in Walker, LA. We live in Denham Springs in a very comfortable home (that we own). Our kids are great. Having twins has been quite an experience, but worth every minute. We spent our first Christmas with Jimmy's older son, Austin this past year (07). And our baby, is not a baby anymore!
School Story:
Mrs. Browning - 10th grade English
I remember not wanting to talk for fear that I would mispronounce a word or use slang and get the dreaded clothes pin! She was my inspiration, though. I will always value the experience and knowledge I gained in her class. She was the first teacher that ever noticed my writing. She said I had a natural talent. I write nearly every day; not always a classic, but I try to use my talent to the best of my ability.
