Since 1999... I went to LSU and loved every second of it, met my husband Claude and earned a Bachelor's of Fine Art. Started out in Criminology but couldn't help it, I'm an artist at heart. We married in 2002 and promptly moved to New Orleans, where he started Medical School with LSU. Katrina hit as he was finishing his third year there, and we ended up bouncing around the south & east coast for the six months after. We returned to New Orleans for his residency in Emergency Medicine, and I started teaching art at a school called Rabouin in the Recovery School District. THAT is an indescribable experience. Love hate kinda thing. Awful and amazing... I went out on maternity leave this past November and had our son Draden on December 8th. I've been on extended leave home with him ever since and enjoy the quieter life and safety of being home and in my studio more, but I miss my Rabouin kids like crazy. Not sure at this stage what the future holds for my career. We just recently moved to Hammond.
Central High... guess it makes me an uber nerd that I really remember how great my teachers were, rather than rockin parties and stuff like that. I was the "shy girl" some of you may not remember anyway. Voted quietest our senior year. Wish I coulda been half the art teacher Mr. Babin was, and LSU didn't have an English or Literature professor that could hold a candle to Ms. Malone. Central really was a good school.
