After floundering around at LSU for two years, having fun and wasting my parents money, I joined the Naval Nuclear Power Program in 1983. From 1983 to 1988, I completed the Naval Nuclear Power Program and served on the USS Alabama, Trident submarine. I was stationed in Bangor, Washington.
I left the Navy in 1988 and began my commercial nuclear power career at River Bend Nuclear Station (RBS) in St. Francisville in January of 1989. In 2006 after spending 17 years with RBS, I made a bold move and joined the team of Energy Northwest working for Columbia Nuclear Generating Station (CGS) located in Richland, Washington.
I am the Outage Support Supervisor at CGS and my job involves planning refueling outages for our nuclear plant. The job is great!
I live in the Tri-Cities of Washington State. The area is great and the climate is awesome. We actually have four distinct seasons (like we are supposed to). I love bass fishing and spend the majority of the spring and summer fishing the Snake, Yakima, and Columbia rivers. My family also enjoys tubing and knee boarding on the Snake river.
I have been married to my beautiful wife Paula since 1983 and we just celebrated our 25th anniversary last October. We have 3 children (2 sons and a daughter) of which two are grown and have children of their own. My youngest son is 15 and is a freshman in high school. I have 2 grandsons with a granddaughter on the way. My oldest son is in the Navy serving on board the USS John Paul Jones. My daughter, her husband and son live in Washington around the corner from us.
Since leaving high school, I have longed to continue my education and will be beginning my Masters in Management in September of 2009.
We all know the old saying that the grass is always greener on the other side. For me, this was true as I have had the opportunity to experience different regions of our great country. However, the one thing that Louisiana has the edge over all other parts of the country is the exceptional food.
