Wow Jim, cool truck!   Enjoyed looking at the pics of the old band follies programs, have copies of those someplace packed away.  Lotsa great memories.

Gene, what became of your GTO?  I fell in luv with them in 65 and by 66 was absoultely going to have one.  Alas, the insurance man convinced us otherwise, and the family ended up with a nice 66 Lemans, a beautiful car-convertible, rally wheels, etc. Loved it but like all good things, time takes it's toll.  Don't know where that car ever went.  Dad traded it in at Stan Lassen Pontiac for a newer car in about 1969 or 70 I believe.  By then I was in the USN thinking that maybe someday I'd find one.  It took a few years but we eventually decided to go second-car shopping, and decided to focus on something interesting that would have good value.  Found my 67 in about 1992 and bought it off a used car lot here in Va.  I wasn't fussy as long it was numbers-matching and hadn't been seriously messed with.  Got lucky on it.

Marty said I should bring it to the reunion.  Would love to but not even sure I can make it there, let alone afford the gas to get it that distance (who cares when you're crusin tho!).

Wonder if some of the local car club guys in the BC area would want to put on a little display of cars from that era?  It would probably be a popular addition to the weekend festivities to have a few classics strategically placed.

Terry - I thought the car display was a fun idea as well. Try to come to the reunion and maybe I can have a surprise for you. I'll run it pass the committee. I too am a gear head, as my girlfriends like to label me, and drive a Z4 cuz you gotta get that adrenaline rush somehow. Martha Hoffman, Hospitality Chairman

I love that so many of you are into cars and other motor vehicles. I'll bet you would love to "show and tell" about what you have accumulated or what you once owned and maybe wish you still had it. I am starting a new Photo gallery that is just devoted to MY MOTOR VEHICLES. Please click on the Photo gallery link and begin adding your photos. Please be sure to tell a little about your vehicle and why it was important to you. Thanks.

I have a 66 chevelle now.was thinking about diving it now I,m think about riding my honda fury motorcycle.

Great idea - I'll try to get some photos up there - Gene, you too.  Lots of great 66 Chevelle memories from our time crusin the gut downtown.  I'll bet if we all stretched all those miles circling thru downtown into a straight line we could circle the clobe!

That honda is really cool and they are now being restored and exhibited in antique car shows.  Motorcycles are becoming increasingly popular and stuff from the 60s is still obtainable without a second mortgage so get them while you can.   Cars (and motorcycles) were a big part of our lives back then, for some of us they remain so.  Still trying to figure out how I can make it to the reunion.

007...  Thanks for the nice words about my Honda. I sold my 13 year old Harley about 2 years ago. Even though I'm in Florida most of the year, I just wasn't riding it. So it is in a very good home now and is being used every day. I'm strictly 4-wheeling it now-days. (but I'd love to have a Segway just for the fun of it!)

I hope you can find some way to attend the reunion. It will be worth your while. Please post a picture of your vehicles and I'll make your best one the "cover" picture for the gallery.

Finally a quiet evening around here, so I posted some pics from our stable of interesting vehicles.  It's really an eclectic collection representing some of the interesting stuff that just kinda followed us home over the years.  Amazing that I was able to enjoy the old car hobby even while in the USN for 23 years. There are still a few projects tucked away in the barn (and behind) so I figure I've got enough to keep me busy once I decide to retire.

I hope everyone has found a hobby or other interest that keeps them sane, maybe broke most of the time, and that they can share with friends.   I certainly can't be the only automotive nut-case from the class of '65, so let's see some more of your toys!

Any Soul-music collectors: Trying to find a cassette/CD  (home-burned;OK) of the 1971 Pointer Sisters { It's a Plenty } album. There's a 15 min. cut called 'Love up in them hills'. In my humble opinion the greatist conga-drum solo ever. (eat your heart out; Ricky Ricardo !) Actually,I found 3--4 of them, but @ $ 80.00 bucks apiece ! (YEE-Ouch !) So, if any of U Alumnibusters can help me out you'll be on my Krizmuss list forever.I On the other topic that seems 2 have materialized here;( Hot Cars ). Like, who didn't know them would 'POP' up.I have a '50' stock Chev. sedan (in dire need of bondo) named "PETUNIA", cause w/all rounded (fat) areas; she's shaped sort of like 'Porky Pigs' girlfriend. What was I thinkin'??Who do I pay & where will we/B. Hope it's outside .This is sort of a BCCHSChatroom; HUH ??                 Fer years I thought 'Yoga' was the greatist catcher the 'Yankee's' ever had.   Peace & popsicles 2 all !       -marty

Oh how I remember the black snow as well.  Turns out, it was Ashley Dairy burning trash that night, and we were the beneficiaries of some thoughtless oaf who had a job to do...

Wow, yall are tryin to make be feel guilty about not bringing the GTO.  Schedule is pretty tight here and if there is a way I can make it I will, but won't be able to take the time to drive up with something for the show.  Still, what a cool part of the reunion.  Terry

As far as cars over the years, I have had a bright orange '55 Chevy, two Volkswagon bugs, a Chevy Malibu station wagon, Pontiac Catalina, Mazda 929, Toyota Highlander, and two Toyota Matrix 2006 & 2009. I still drive the '09. All the vehicles were to get from point A to point B. Other than that... I have no Classic cars.
As far as my music interest it has really gone through changes over time. Back in our day (50's & 60's) it wasall the stuff on Keener, 45's or at dances. Soul and RnR. Then it was albums of Blues, Rock, Blues Rock some soft Rock, Beatles, Stones, Hendrix etc. Then Frank Zappa, Sound Garden, Alice in Chains, Reggae etc. Then Smooth Jazz, etc. From there came concert videos on You Tube or purchasing them on Amazon. All my audio listening is from my smart phone or in my '09 Matrix where music comes from all my CD's from my 6CD changer.

I do not live in a mansion, but a small affordable home I purchased while working at Kellogg's. I have a small yard in a nice neighborhood which I care for just to add some sort of curb appeal.

Thanks Ken, cars produce classic memories too!  Music as well.  While attendng WMU my roommate was Dave Thomas, DJ at the BC Radio Station for a few years.  Still enjoy music from our era, and it's usually playing quietly in the background at work, much to the enjoyment of others when they drop in or walk past my door.  Anyone know what became of Dave Thomas (real name was Dave Schneider)?

Why are there only like 10 of us chatting here ? The internet (YAH; so I just figgured this out !), is like the worlds biggest conference call. I'm gonna' put an idea (plea 4 help) on the totally empty/never been used ,CHAT room feature of this BCCHS thingy. Feel free 2 chime-in.    marty (chatroom idea a bust/C next letter)

Martin Alexis Bobinac

Ok;guys&gals; scatch the chatroom idea. The instructions baffled me .I could't even get the 'happy-face' to appear(just got red # 8's) So heres the deal. Would the class as a whole be willing to back a "BC Skatepark" for our collective Grandkids (give our obese {51 % and climing} I-Pod junkie descendants) a safe place 2 actually exercise/socialize.(got a garbage-can full of psycology studies 4 them needing proof) One simple E-mail ;Forwarded 2 all the various Govt' flunkys'. Mayor,city/county,etc.// St. Reps & senators.& Santa, letting them know we'd like their help (or at least endorsement) {a subtle hint that our campaining 4 their future re-election could hinge on this proposal might motivate them}  Ya,think ? Is their anyone who thinks this is not a great way 4 the Class o'65 2 be remembered ? All across the US,towns the size of Marshall got skateparks. Has generations or cornflake fumes turned our brains 2 mush; I think not. It's become obvious 2 me that the younger folks are all 2 busy making their "Lexus"  payments & we seem to have a lot of free time. This won't cost U a cent. Take less time & effort than attending a reunion & once it's built w/give us a chance 2 feel good about a class prodject that actually benefited our desendent's (end of sermon) Well wadddaya think ?All this typing is giving me "tennis-index finger.   Peace&love     marty      [PS]  So far I sent a well respected cat  2 see the mayor & got the kind of response Eaor always gave Winnie the Poo," Duh; I don't know,it won't work ,a meteorite will fall out of the sky & crush it." UR basic negative bull shit. Need a little help, here. One voice/vote gets ignored. Many get results. UR thoughts/input; please.   again,  M

Marti... enjoy your reading your responses to stuff on the '65 reunion page. Hasn't a skate park already been hashed over in the past? And no real skate park has ever been built. Do you know where one could be built?
I live on a street with a slight grade. Alot of kids in the neighborhood have long boards and come cruising down the street. Pretty cool stuff. I just about bought one myself.
