Oh-what a night it was!!!

Thanks to the entire reunion committee for giving us the chance to put our lives on hold and step back to the 60's for a while.  Was so glad I was able to be there.  A flood of memories came back this weekend, and wow, did we ever create a lot of them back in '65.  When we sang the fight song I could feel the excitement that we felt when we marched from the old band building to the stadium on those cool evenings, to watch the Bearcats wipe the competition from the field. I all came back, accompanied by Cindy Richard's golden voice once again.  It was pure Bearcat Pride, and it will always be in our hearts.  From the mixer to the dinner it was fantastic to see old friends, catch up with lives gone different directions, and even to hug and dance with high-school loves.  I stayed until the doors closed Saturday night trying to hang on to every memory.  What a great time we lived in - from the music and cars to the dreams of changing the world, the class of '65 left it's mark in so many ways.  When the doors finally closed, it felt as if I'd been to the best movie ever.  That same fullness of heart, the tear in the eye,and that warm feeling that can only be summed up with "wow, that was great!"  The bucket here is fulll of memories.  Thanks you all for letting us reach in and grab them again together.

Until next time -

Terry

Terry, your eloquent synopsis of the 50 year reunion expresses the same sentiment as most, if not all, who attended. Words without number will never match the feelings of our hearts. It is in our hearts where the passion of camaraderie has been in quiet repose these many years. The "Oh What a Night..." and other events awakened that passionate Bearcat spirit and rekindled that spark of friendship.
Through the website, may we all continue feeling this awakened state and keep the fires of friendship burning.

Well spoken Terry and Larraine. I couldn't have come up with better words to express how much I enjoyed the reunion.   My thanks to everyone who made my wife and other classmates' spouses/partners also feel very comfortable and welcome. Alice genuinely enjoyed the gathering thanks to your friendliness.  Unlike some classmates, we were fortunate not to have any conflicts that would have prevented us from attending. Though health issues, family weddings and other circumstances kept some classmates from attending, it's clear from comments I've seen that they were with us in spirit.  Keep the spirit alive--go Bearcats!

What a wonderful weekend it was!  I totally agree with the comments above.  It was great to reconnect with my high school friends and share memories of that special time in our lives.  I left with such warm feelings in my heart after spending time with so many special friends (and even a relative!).  The smiles and laughter we shared will remain with me forever.  Thank you to the committee who made this reunion possible.

53 yrs. ago, 600+ kids started high school not knowing what the future would bring. Now we know.! Since we're all retirement age now let me offer up a simple prayer. May our last years be blessed with health&happiness.May your troubles be small & your joy be boundless & when the time comes, may Angels chauffer you to Heaven. And may all your golf balls land on the green!  I believe we coined the phrase;" Peace & Love !" (It still works)   As Roy Rodgers&Dale Evens sang at the end of each show,"Happy trails to you" & to all of you'      Marty B   (PS)  Please find it in your hearts to help Larry Allen out w/His Skatepark.{God'll bless U 4 it}

I share in all the wonderful comments and concur with every word posted.   HUGE kudos to the committee for all of your countless hours of work getting this event together.  It was just plain fabulous.  Don't think I could have had a nicer time.  So fun to reconnect and relive our "olden days" and talk about our "golden years."   They truly were the best years to grow up in.  We were blessed.  Hope everyone continues with good health, happiness and peace.  God bless to all.

Thanks Marty, appreciate your kind words on my thoughts from the Reunion.  It sure was great to see you and visit. I sure like your comment about how we started all this wondering what would happen in the years to come - and now we know.  But, hopefully there are a few more good years there for us and lots of great things to do.  I know that most have now returned home, gone back to work (the few of us not yet retired anyway) and have resumed life as usual, but at this age, a good dose of nostalgia is good for the soul and we sure had that at our Reunion.  Let's keep this forum active with live's adventures.

Carol, it was a wonderful night!  Great job with the country club...beautiful setting, attentive and polite wait staff, good food, 60's music (can't beat that!), and the best high school class BCCHS ever graduated!  Thanks for all your work!  You're so right, "Oh What A Night!"

Ken, You, and the many of us,  are afflicted with 'short' term memory loss. But luckily for you, you will always have LONG term memory.

At least I have an answer for the 'double speak ' that my email does on my new phone. Everything appears twice. It might be a new phone, but has 'old timers' memory.

Well I'm back with a plea for help for a totally remodeled "Battleground Skatepark".  This skatepark has an outreach to young people who are not always thought of as "model" citizens but I have been there while installing a video projector and found them to be respectful, even to this old man who wouldn't be caught on a skateboard.  The new ramps are fantastic but like anything that is not supported by donations, the skaters can't keep a facility going with just their fees to pay the insurance, rent, electric and heat.  Only a few college students get paid a small amount and the adults do not get paid.  Several of the local churches have donated but they need more funds.  Please go to the go fund me link and check out what is going on and decide if you might be able to help in some way.

Thanks,

Larry Allen
