Get acquainted with the town we are staying in!

Ocean Grove, NJ was founded in 1869 in reaction to the camp meeting movement in the United States. [Read further about camp meetings here] Because this location was used for religious purposes, the town created and outgrew a number of different open-air auditoriums.

This movement led to the creation of Ocean Grove’s most famous building, the Great Auditorium. While the building sat 10,000 people when it was constructed in 1894, the seating has since been modernized and sits around 6,000 individuals. Make sure you get a view of this historical and beautifully crafted auditorium.
