After graduating from BHS, I went to Shimer College, an amazing liberal arts school. We studied Great Books in Socratic seminars. I also studied abroad in Oxford for a year. After that, I traveled for a year doing some camping and permaculture-related internships. Then I worked at the public access TV station in Tucson for four years. Then I spent a couple of years teaching 8th grade Language Arts and Reading. I moved to Wisconsin and then Minnesota with my now-husband and launched my freelance writing career, and then we moved back to Phoenix. I do investigative journalism covering technology and digital freedom, among other things, and am also a health and fitness writer and editor.
