Graduated from UF in 1972, went back a year later and completed my M.Ed. in '74. Moved to Atlanta after graduation to teach elementary school and have been here since. I took a break from teaching for a few years when my boys were little and then started teaching preschool part time at my church. I fell in love with the preschool special ed class they were housing for our county public school system and decided to complete the necessary courses to add a Preschool Handicapped Endorsement to my teaching certificate. I've worked in the Early Childhood Special Education Dept. since '91 in many different capacities. I've found the old saying, "It's never too late", to be personally true. I went back to graduate school in '05-06 and completed my Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision. I accepted a Preschool Special Education Coordinator position the following year that I left after just one year. I decided I wanted no part of the politics involved with that type of leadership position in my county! Until I retired I was an Educational Diagnostician on a preschool special education assessment team (for ages 3-5). I was lucky to have worked with one of my best friends and I just loved it.
The very best thing that's happened to me though, was meeting my husband, Tim, when I moved to Atlanta. We've been married since 1976 and it's been a truly wonderful ride!! We are both retired now and LOVING it!!
I was so happy to have been a part of the 35 and 45 year reunions!
