Marie Louise Sharkey of Oak Ridge, formerly of Belleville, died June 24, 2008, at home, surrounded by her family. She was 61 years old. Born on Aug. 11, 1946, in Newark, Marie was the daughter of James R. and Marie R. Mullery McConnon. She attended St. Joseph School of Nursing, graduating in 1967, and started her 40year career as a registered nurse. Marie was a member of St. John Vianney R.C. Church and a Eucharistic minister. She was also a vital member of many organizations dedicated to assisting young mothers and families, including Birth Haven of Newton, Birth Rite of Dover and Natural Family Planning with Saint Clares Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Sharkey Jr. of Oak Ridge; her daughter, Kathleen Sharkey of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Thomas Sharkey of New York City; a son, Michael Sharkey and his wife, Kerry, of Yonkers; a daughter, Erin Sharkey of New York City; her mother, Marie R. McConnon of Belleville; a sister, Regina Grabowski of Brick; a brother, James McConnon of Howell; a sister, Kathleen Bidleman of Reston, Va.; a brother, Michael McConnon of Belleville; a brother, John McConnon of Torrance, Calif.; a sister, Margaret McConnon of Flanders; a brother, Joseph McConnon of Succasunna, and three grandchildren, Sean, Nora and Marguerita.
