It seems I knew Jim his entire life, having met him when he was 17. He was the dearest and always the most thoughtful person I've ever known. We had four children together, the youngest was only 14 when Jim passed away in 1994. I heard a song today, "Somewhere" sung by Il Divo and it brought Jim to mind. If I could have, I would have it accompany this. Jim led a very active life working @ AT&T for 25 years, while teaching @ St. Elizabeth's College and County College of Morris. He traveled extensively - from almost every state to many international countries and we enjoyed vacations on Martha's Vineyard and four wonderful vacations in Hawaii. I would venture to say, like most of you, he experienced elation, disappointments, and I hope, much happiness.
Unfortunately, he never got to see three of his children become teachers and the other an Occupational Therapist. I do know that he is watching over his four beautiful grandchildren. And believe me, with all of their activities, etc., they need watching over. . . I attached photos of them. The youngest, Adam James, looks a lot like Jim.
I want each of you to know how Jim always cherished his fond memories of you and his days at St. Peter's, especially the 25th Reunion. He would wish for you good health, adventure and much happiness in the years to come. Have a spectacular 50th reunion.
Thank you Linda for a wonderful rememberance of Jim. I took the liberty of adding soundtrack you mentioned and an additional one I thought appropriate.
How strange that you should add "Somewhere in Time." My daughter sang that very song at her brother's wedding. It too has special meaning for my family.
