Linda died four years ago today, from cancer, and I still miss her. She was back in Georgia in her own place but on her Mom's property. Both Mom and sister lived nearby and were at hand to help Linda as she went through all you have to go through with cancer. I still call her Mom, Billy, on the anniversary of her death and we remember, together, the good times and great person that Linda was.
Linda married one of the guys she met while living in San Francisco - a sailor off the USS Ranger. They lived in Florida and, when they parted, she stayed back there for many years - there and in Georgia with her family. But she returned, lived in Redwood City for awhile and then moved to Pacifica. She was in Pacifica with a great bunch of people until she got ill and returned to Florida.
Linda was part of my life, after high school, when I lived in the Haight Ashbury. She was in the Mission District and we had a lot of fun playing together and with the USS Ranger guys. Miss you, Linda. N.
