School Story
I was drafted by the United States Regular Army twice, and had to report for a physical two time also. In each case I notified the draft board that I qualified for a student deferment, and received a student deferment each time. In 1974 I volunteered for the United States Regular Army Infantry Division. Because of my previous education Graduating from the University of Oregon, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1970, I was given a Private First Class designation at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. The Vietnam War was closing down in 1974, and decided to file for a discharge, and was granted an Honorable Discharge after serving approximately ninety days. Almost every soldier was discharged in 1975, and the Vietnam Police Action was declared ended.
I attended the University of California, San Francisco, as a graduate student with an emphasis on Marine Biology. I did not complete the course, which involved learning snorkeling. Later I attended Sierra College, in Rocklin California and received a second degree in Computer Aided Drafting. I also received three Computer Aided Drafting Certificates. After Sierra College I attended the University of California, Davis and completed all the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.
