Richard Hall Hall

I retired after 37 yrs. of teaching in 2003. I taught high school math, driver education, and coached girls and boys basketball. Now I do a lot volunteer work for the Stoughton Senior Center, RSVP of Dane County, and our food coop here in Stoughton. I now have a part time job driving the stoughton taxi here in town. I love it. My wife, Dee, retired from teaching in 2012 and does a lot of volunteer work in the schools. I have a vegetable garden that I putts around in and still keep active by walking as much as I can. Bryan and his family just recently moved back to Stoughton after spending 7 yrs in Albany, NY. Beth has 5 kids, an 12 yr. old, 10 yr. old, and identical triplet girls who turned 9 this summer. Bryan has a daughter who turned 9 in June and a son Owen Richard who was 6 in August of 2013. Shelley has our youngest granddaughter, Jayla, who will be 5 in February. Dee and I really enjoy having our family all living in Stoughton.

I remember the whole high school meeting in the old gym (wooden backboards and all) to watch the first man to orbit the earth. We watched on this little TV. It couldn't have been much bigger than a 19 in.

I also have fond memories of our sports team in my highschool career. Our 1961-62 football team had a 6-1-1 record, losing only to Monticello 13-12 in a hard fought game. We actually beat the Okaw Champs Sullivan 7-6 to give them their only loss of the year. Our 1960-61 basketball team won the Okaw Conf. tournament beating favorite Tuscola.
