Comments:

After graduation, I went to Ole Miss (The University of Mississippi) and got my International Business degree in 1995. Shortly thereafter, I moved to Memphis and worked at McAlister's Deli as an Assistant Manager. I changed jobs twice while in Memphis and married Greg Buckner. We both transferred with our employers to Bloomington, IL to be closer to family.

In 2003, we had our first child, Emma Claire. Then in 2005, we had a little boy, Keegan Stuart. Emma just started Kindergarten in August and Keegan started preschool in September.

I most recently worked for Kathryn Beich (yes, Caramel Bars) in the Finance Department until we were purchased by another fundraising company and they closed our corporate office. So on August 22, 2008, I officially became unemployed. I've been enjoying being home with Keegan and being there to get Emma on and off the bus.

Now, I'm putting together my daily schedule without having to be at work by 7:30 every morning. For about a year now, I have been a consultant for Tastefully Simple. TS is a home-party for gourmet foods that require 3 ingredients or less. I basically started selling it because I love the product so much. And I can make a little bit of money doing it.

Recently, I have become an Uppercase Living consultant as well. Uppercase Living is home decoration through expression. They are sort-of personalized decals that you can put on most any hard surface. I have included my website here so check it out. They are so much fun and I get so many compliments on the expressions I have in my house.

So as you can see, there's never a dull moment in the Buckner household.

School Story:

I have so many great memories from growing up in Bement. We were lucky to be in such a nice community and school. Coming from a small town, this is something Greg and I struggle with for our kids. We live in Bloomington and our high school, Normal Community (just 1 out of the 5 high schools here) has over 1500 students. We'll just have to hope that our kids get Greg's jumping ability and my driving skills (he drove through my garage door in HS, remember? He does - we won't ever let him forget it!) :)

But I have great memories of playing sports (except Track - I hated that sport), throwing my gum at Janice every basketball game for good luck, building Homecoming floats, playing basketball on my driveway, sitting on my bed talking to Todd and Cory outside my window, getting into major trouble with Mindi our senior year, traveling to Europe with Madame Gaigalas (I saw her at Sam's last weekend and she's doing well), eating ice cream and french fries at the Rooster Inn for lunch, making Peanut Brittle in Mr. Hensley's chemistry class, easy Airsman P.E. tests and square dancing, Jimmy's big white car in the drive-thru at Dairy Queen, Skid Row and Kix..... I could go on and on. I had a great childhood/adolescence in Bement and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I hope my kids get to experience school in the same way I did!
