After high school I went to the University of Akron and studied Chemical Engineering and during co-op had a boss from MIT who counted cards in Vegas (see the movie 21). I met my wonderful wife in a statistics class (you will notice a trend) and started my next adventure. We moved to Michigan where we currently live. We spent a lot of time working with the youth program at our local church. Carrie taught and I dabbled as an engineer. On our 5th year anniversary we received the first of our three beautiful girls - Lydia. Soon after came Abigail and a little later Rachel. We recently got a puppy to cure any lingering baby desires as our 3 kids already have me out gunned. Our girls currently moonlight as flower girls for most of the kids in our old youth program. Combined they will have been in 11 weddings by the end of the summer!
I am currently Director of Quality (more statistics) at a manufacturing company and still love to work with kids, particularly those without fathers. We started a small foundation for at risk kids that has allowed us to meet many wonderful people from inner city Detroit to as far away as Kenya. I have a blast with the youth football league and inner city tutoring programs we help support. Just to make sure I am going crazy, last year I began a new journey and turned a hobby, investing, into a business. I started a small Hedge fund that uses statistics to pick stocks (clearly geeky beyond hope - as if none of you saw that coming 20 years ago). The Hedge fund supports our foundation and other foundations and makes sure I am in way over my head.
I feel like life has been a series of great adventures - I thank God for the ride so far and I can't wait to see what is next.
