Okay, I have an idea. I think everyone should try to dig up some memories from St. Mary's to share. I have many, many memories from SMS. I think it was so cool that we were a small school (at least in the later days) and we were all together for 8 or 9 years. When I look back to grade school, I feel like we were an extended family to each other. Here are some memories: Danny Wheeler pooping his pants in first grade, Brian Hansen crawling out the window in second grade, thinking Miss Fronkowiak (sp?) was the best teacher in the world, Mr. Armbruster teaching us English and starting every class with a quick quiz (how cruel!), having Miss McCarthy for fourth grade and loving her (she totally favored Jimmy Norris. . .don't ya think??), Mrs. Zeih's husband shooting a gun out our fifth grade window while wearing Civil War clothes, square dance lessons in the gym, walking to Berea Roll and Bowl for skating and bowling, bees always flying around Larry Shank's head, playing with a parachute in gym class in first grade. . .the list goes on and on. Anyone else want to share???

OMG Kathy, I'm with Theresa. I can't stop laughing at your post. I don't remember Mr. Armbruster teaching us English. I do remember his dentures being too big for his mouth and his upper lip getting caught on them. LOL. Do you remember ALL of our teachers names from kindergarbage (hahaha) to 8th grade, I do. Remember when Miss Damian flew off the handle and ran out of the room and slammed the door. Sister Pat made her come back to the room and apologize to us. I think we got ice cream over that incident. Most of us were together for 9 years. I'm going to try to get ahold of some people that left us during our 9 years at St. Mary's, like Andre Overs, Danny Wheeler, Kathy Ratz, etc. I may even try to contact some of our old teachers, so they can relive some memories. Take care.

Kathy those are so funny. I know it may have seemed like Miss Mccarthy favored me but that is only because we were dating at the time. She eventually broke up with me because I had to be in the house with my toys put away by 7:30. I guess our relatinship was doomed from the start. some memories that stick with me are Bernie McCardell always getting in trouble, Brian Hansen being allowed to have a private "office" in Mrs. Walsh's 2nd grade class (the rest of us were only allowed to put folders up on the table to segrigate our space). Steve Traczyk giving a book report in a diaper (for the book Superfudge). Me wearing floods for the entire 8th grade because my parents didn't have 20 bucks to buy me a new set of blue pants. Etc, etc, etc.....

Thanks for posting that stuff. I have only good memories of those times. My brothers and I talk about SMS sometimes and always laugh. When I look back we were all extremely close at the time. Myself, Jim Norris, Ed F, John J, Theresa, Kristen, Erin, Kathy and Jenny were as tight as you could be up until high school, then we went our seperate ways. I remember those walks to bowling/rollerskating too, and those damn bees would always get to Larry! I also remember very well our dance classes and what a big deal it was. Also John, Ed and I entered and won the talent show in 7th grade dressed as the supremes!.......good times.

This is the best!!! My mind is racing with all of the great memories. I need to collect my thoughts...Any chance of a reunion soon? I would love to see everyone again. What was with Brian Hansen having his own "office"? Funny thing...later in life he was one of my roommates and we often talked about how he ever got away with the crazy things he did. Kathy, what about Miss Frankoviak's wedding? And her cool teal Camaro (or was it a Mustang?)I loved the dances, and bowling, rollerskating, COSI,the list goes on!

People keep talking about bees being around Larry, but does anyone else remeber the time (I think 7th grade?) when a bee actually went IN his ear? I still shudder when I think about that. And I was just driving through Berea with my kids the other day trying to explain to them how the Prospect Bridge would "bounce" when we were walking on it (I think to the school picnic?) And no matter how mad my kids get at their teachers now, I still know they never had it as bad as we did in 3rd grade! But most of the other years/teachers made up for that. Would be great to see some of those teachers again!

Wow Mary. I thought I was the only one who felt tortured by Mrs. Krupar! When I saw her in the class picture Kathy posted on FB a cold chill went through my body.

For some reason my mom and Mrs Krupar struck up a friendship while we were in the third grade, and I had to go to her house a few saturdays and I was so miserable! I was afraid of her and the pool water was green!

I didn't mind third grade too much, actually. :-) I remember being a little afraid of Mrs. Krupar. I also remember her reading us Charlotte's Web every day. Clog shoes were a big deal that year. . .I think Andre Overs started that trend. Luckily we had Miss McCarthy the next year and life was good again. By the way, I ended up teaching with "Miss Walsh" aka Mrs. Heiman from 1993-1998. We were good friends and drinking buddies. Isn't Mrs. Whelan the principal of St. Mary's now? I think we were her first or second class. And I think Mrs. Wright might still be there! How about Mrs. Majewski? I think she made history interesting.

Mrs Majeski was a good teacher. Mrs Wright is still there. My nephew attends St Marys now so I see Mrs Whelan now and then. She definitely remembers our class and has asked if we have considered a reunion. I never got many VG's and O's either, and I still turned out OK.

You see---the fear is still in me, I deleted my post. Catholic guilt.

Hey guys,
I just got ahold of another classmate, Bobby Gawronski. He hangs with Danny Esker. Does anyone communicate with any of these other classmates, Julie Harrison, Marty Kovach, Erin O'Donnell, Scott Sejka or
Larry Shank(Bee Man)? I'm trying to contact everyone.

No idea where those guys are. I remember Jerry Apponovich the janitor who was always cool to everyone and every Halloween, he would put candy bars on all of our desks before we even got to class. How about George Hansack and the Star Wars theme every year in the talent show. He would always win - except for the year Mike Hurst, Jon Butts, and yours truly took him to school with our breakdancing beatdown. How about crab soccer in Mrs. Wrights gym class and how Dan Esker used to just wait near the wall for the loose ball(huge and made out of beige canvas)to come to him so he could score the easy goal. I have one more funny memory from St. Marys on Front St. Watching Escape From Witch Mountain on the wall in the gym and wearing my pajama shirt to school because I forgot I had it on.

I vote for late June~

June sounds great. If we need a place to have it, we could definitely have it at my parents. They live in Columbia Station. Just a thought. If anyone has travel plans to Washington DC/Baltimore/Annapolis, let me know I'd love to meet up. I live in Annapolis, MD.

Nice Steve....I was jamming on the sax when WE won that talent show. I remember the teachers making you guys take your boobs out cause it would offend Father Chumura (sp). Who could not remember how my hands would sweat so bad that I could hold them over my desk and they would literally drip. I passed that on to my son...damn his luck. Thank you Kathy...you were so kind when you got stuck being my dance partner. Lol. Who could forget Mrs. Linns...I still say my prepositions out loud...although since then they have added a few more. I remember working for the church in high school...if you guys only knew what went on behind closed doors. I hope we get this reunion thing worked out...it should be a great time.
