I attended Bucknell Univ and graduated 1977, Joined the Peace Corps and was in Ghana to teach Chemistry and math; returned and attended graduate school at University of Toledo finishing a masters degree in Kinesiotherapy. The first 20 years of my career I live in NE (Massachusetts then NH) working as a kinesiotherapist in various rehab facilities and then in my own practice. We moved to Virginia in 2000 for me to teach at Virginia Commonwealth University. Then some short term gigs at fitness centers and therapy practices in Charlottesville VA. I have worked the past 15 years for the VA. At CVVHCS (Richmond) VA and since August 2022 for the Dayton VA - that goodness for remote - part of a trio of health coach coordinators exploring virtual exercise coaching for veterans with access to various complementary and integrative health modalities for pain management, health and wellbeing.
My specialties include aquatic therapy, pain management, posture and wellness.
School Story

My memories tend to revolve around music and sports: marching band, orchestra, choir, student government, field hockey, lacrosse, swimming. Selling hoagies and collecting newspapers for trips. SO much gratitude for the expanded team play offerings.
I am sure we were not the only family who were hit with the GE layoffs. So my father, a rocket scientist, physicist/ logistician found himself unemployed - he sought a variety of jobs before finding a job in Maryland and my mom convinced him that we would not move until Naomi and I graduated. So 1 week after graduation we moved!
There are those of us who truly grew up together : valley forge elementary, new eagle elementary, VF Jr High and then CHS.... we did girl scouts, swim team, etc

So exciting to hear your journey! I remember hearing about Skiing and snorkeling and thinking wow! I love the pathways we each take. I also love hearing what HS was like for each of us! There are those of us who truly grew up together - from Valley Forge Elem, JR high and CHS ( Some diversion to New Eagle Elem)... So exciting to do what we are passionate about!.
